Mcnylon ® wheel

Mcnylon® (≥80 Shore D)

Mcnylon® (≥80 Shore D)

Mcnylon®: Modified MC nylon (cast nylon) for very heavy loads at low speed. Low friction and minimal rolling resistance, high compressive strength and stiffness, wear resistant and self-lubricating, resists oils and greases; hard tread for smooth rails and floors.

Typical Operating Conditions

  • Typical equipment: ultra-heavy special equipment, heavy transfer cars, crane and rail carriages.
  • Load and speed: ultra-heavy loads at low speed; easy pushing and low drive power.
  • Environment: smooth rails or hard floors, oily conditions; hard tread, not for rough or high-impact surfaces.

Material Parameters

Property Test method Unit Typical value
Hardness ASTM D 2240 Shore D ≥80
Density — g/cm³ 1.15–1.16
Tensile strength ASTM D 412 MPa 90–100
Elongation at break ASTM D 412 % 10–30
Water absorption — % 0.7–1.3
Friction coefficient (no lubrication) — — 0.1–0.3
Continuous service temperature — °C −35 to +100

Note: typical values measured on laboratory test specimens, for material selection only; whole-wheel performance depends on wheel diameter, tread thickness and operating conditions.

Mcnylon nylon wheels are machined or moulded for guiding wheels and pallet rollers on dry, smooth floors. A nylon wheel rolls lighter than a rubber wheel and does not mark sealed concrete. Avoid it on rough outdoor yards, where a polyurethane wheel or rubber wheel is kinder to the surface.
